Gardener Application

Important Note: As we start on the garden this spring during Governor Whitmer’s Stay Home, Stay Safe order, we believe that gardening falls under the exception to leave your home for exercise. However, we are cancelling potlucks until it is safe to hold them again, and we cannot in good conscience expect neighbors to gather to garden at the same time. For the time being, please be sure to use your own tools and maintain a six foot distance from gardeners from other households who happen to be tending their plots when you do. We look forward to being able to spend time together later this spring/summer.

If you gardened with us last summer, please fill out the form again to show you intend to participate; once you have done so, you can simply plan to use your same plot as last year. This arrangement should streamline communications and allow you start as soon as you wish.

Plot fee: There will not be a required plot fee. We are however encouraging donations of $20 for plot use to fund garden supplies and help our garden grow. Any amount donated whether greater or smaller based on your means would be greatly appreciated. All donations from this form will go towards the garden.
Typically this field would be used to mention if the gift is in honor or memory of someone. It's also a great place to make general comments.
Photo permission: From time to time gardeners will take photos of the garden. By checking the photo box above, you give your permission for your photo to be reproduced and/or published.

Phone & email: a gardener phone number and email list will be shared with all gardeners. By checking the phone and email box above, you give your permission for your phone number and email to be shared with all gardeners.

Communal garden responsibilities: I agree to regularly tend my plot and resume attendance at garden work days when it is safe to do so. I have marked my calendar for possible work days on the second Saturday of each month (May-October from 10 am to 12 pm, with a potluck at the end). I will also attend to the garden as a whole. If I am unable to attend scheduled work days after they resume I will participate in communal garden tasks a different time or day the week of the work day, or allow other gardeners to tend my plot during the communal work session according to the community agreement. By checking the work days box above, you agree to this section.

Guidelines and liability: By checking the guidelines box above, I agree that I have read the previous Gardener Guidelines and plan to share my recommended changes and then abide by all of the garden rules as amended on April 13. I understand that neither the NOBL Community Garden group nor the owners of the land are responsible for my actions. I, therefore, agree to hold harmless the NOBL Community Garden and owners of the land for any liability, damage, loss, or claim in connection with use of the garden by me or my guests.
NOBL's email list is used primarily to keep our members and interested parties up to date on the latest news, events, and opportunities for involvement in the neighborhood. You will typically receive no more than one or two e-mails per month, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Your contact information will not be traded, given, or sold to any other organization or entity for commercial purposes but may be included in a member directory to facilitate communication among neighbors.
