Belknap Speaker Series: Brewing Beer

October 10, 2024 at 7:00 PM
Neighbors of Belknap Lookout presents a FREE series of engaging and informative talks with local changemakers! Events are free and open to the public!
In October we're going to learn about beer! Our guest speaker is GVSU professor and Mike Staves, PHD. In his talk, we'll learn about the history and impact of the world’s most important beverage: BEER! From the time that beer brewing caused our ancestors to form permanent communities, beer has shaped culture, science and commerce. We will briefly discuss the history and development of brewing, pointing out some of the cultural impacts, the decline and rebirth of brewing in the USA (and Grand Rapids), and what you can do to make your own craft beer. There will be time for Q&A after the presentation.
SNACKS will be provided!
Event takes place at The Newberry Common House (800 Livingston Ave NE, Grand Rapids MI 49503) at the corner of Livingston & Newberry.
