Land use is a big deal in Belknap Lookout! We have an Area Specific Plan (completed in 2009 and adopted by the City of Grand Rapids in 2010) to which new projects are meant to conform. We also discussed connectivity in the neighborhood well before that as part of the MOBL NOBL Charrette Aug 2006.
Our Development Committee vets projects destined for public hearings before they are brought to the neighbors for comments/questions and the board for a vote on whether to support the project at the hearing as an organization. You are welcome to refer to the documentation of our committee rules and process as well as learn some basics about land use and zoning with the handouts from our 2019 Development Committee training.
